Hi All,
I posted this in a thread regarding the recent errors on AdFoc.us links and the user center.
This post also applies to slow-loading pages like the referral center, payment history, and the user home page.
It's my duty to provide a top quality service to all of the users of AdFoc.us. I too am very frustrated by the performance of the AdFoc.us website currently. Some of the pages of the user center load slowly (especially for users who have a lot of referrals) and sometimes the short URLs come up with these errors. This is entirely unacceptable and I am very sorry for this. Users are here to make money and 100% reliability of AdFoc.us short URLs should be expected of us!
This post is in several parts so we are 100% transparent with users about upgrades, new features, and how users can get compensation for the errors.

I understand completely. I am very sorry for the recent errors which have been more prevalent today and yesterday. It has been really unfortunate but a learning experience and a way to improve the service for users. I will make it up to the users because they deserve a top quality service from us.
The reason for these errors is because our software was built in a way which could not handle such high amounts of connections per second (over 9000 per second). We've upgraded our servers a couple months to address the errors and now we will be upgrading again. I'm very confident this upgrade will alleviate the stress on the servers and bring down the errors. The process of upgrading our servers should take a few days and will be done this week.
The issue is not just with the servers, but in the way we store and retrieve data from our database. Our current database design is being replaced with a much, much faster design that will not put as much stress on system resources. This is a process that will take 2-3 weeks to switch from the old database to new. There is a LOT of data (250GB) which has to be carefully implemented into the new design as to keep users data intact.
These upgrades are temporary fixes and are just a temporary solution. I've brought on a very talented programmer who has been designing, coding, and testing a completely new version of our user interface and link serving. The entire AdFoc.us code has been redone, the database re-designed for optimal performance and efficiency, and a lot of new features will be introduced.
This has been a really unfortunate timing for these problems but I promise you we are working our hardest. Our highest priority right now is lowering the number of errors and overall speed of the site without having any downtime. After that, the new AdFoc.us features and code overhaul will be introduced.
