i have a suggestion, why don't adfoc separate 3 "connected" databases? as example, there will be 1 database for short url and another one is for user/publisher/advertiser database.. this way when there's maintenance on the user database, those shrink-ed link wont goes down as the user database, and the 3rd database will do its work when the user/publisher/advertiser is down, they will store the amount of clicks when its down

Thanks for the suggestion.
Our database is big in size and has lots of data. We've been working hard making optimizations and re-structuring the database so there is less load on MySQL. The main thing is avoiding queries that evaluate LOTS of data. This has been a problem with our backup tool and our payment tool. To fix this we've been aggregating and caching the data 24/7 so this problem is avoided.
